Get to know me.

I’ve been working in Leadership Development since 2004

I am an executive coach and facilitator and the owner of Giragos Communications LLC. Since 2004, I have coached leaders and run workshops on management skills, executive presence, presentation skills, building client relationships, negotiation, influence, conflict management, and much more.

I completed my professional coach training with Coaches Training Institute and am a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF. Through affiliations with various companies, I have acquired specialized coaching techniques in executive presence (Ariel Group), negotiation and influence (Vantage Partners), and workplace conduct (Seyfarth at Work). My style is analytical, direct, and energetic.

I have worked in a variety of industries, including law, consulting, life sciences, technology, banking and finance, accounting, construction, and insurance. Notable clients include Amazon Robotics, Biogen, The Broad Institute, Charles River Associates, Partners Healthcare, Recorded Future, Sarepta, Seyfarth Shaw, Teradata, and Verve Therapeutics. I have also served as a coach at Harvard Business School.

I’m originally from North Carolina but now live in Newton, Massachusetts with my wife and two teenage sons. I volunteer with Understanding Our Differences, educating children about living with Type 1 diabetes, and am active in land use issues in my community. One of my proudest accomplishments is swimming across Lake Geneva from Lausanne, Switzerland to Évian, France, a distance of 8 miles (13km), in 2022.

Three strengths I leverage with every individual or group:

Learning Environments

I believe soft skills, like leadership, communication, and conflict resolution, are best developed in an atmosphere where people are relaxed and conversational.  This is true whether I am working with an individual 1-on-1 or in a group. I do this by communicating with warmth and humor, giving people space to shine, and listening intently.

Social Awareness

I pay close attention to the dynamics in a workshop or on a call, reading facial expressions and body language, and finding ways to encourage people to share what is on their minds. I am flexible and adapt my style to ensure that everyone is getting what they need from the experience and that we are moving forward together, intentionally.

Analytical Thinking

In addition to my human and social skills, I bring a critical eye and an analytical approach to my work. I translate theoretical concepts into practical actions. I help participants recast what might seem like an intuitive skillset into something they can approach systematically. I help clients transform emotional churn into rational self-awareness, so they can move forward with confidence.
